In the past, when a colaborator asked for the email of another colaborator, I would give it to them. But what happened was that, they start sharing between themselves and forget about irannostalgia.com. Obviously I cannot compete with them since I'm not inside iran and I dont have as much material. In return, however I always tell to the contributing colaborators: If you have a request, let me know, and I'll pass the information to the other colaborators.

This site works the same way for everybody. If you want something you need to find something from your families collection or go and buy in the bazar or in old bookstores something equally hard to find. Then digitalize it yourself and if I find the material sufficiently valuable I will trade with you. First make sure it is something I am looking for.

The excuse I hear is typically: "I don't have anything to give". Wrong answer: I did not have anything when I started either. I had to spend lots of money from my own pocket to gather what I have gathered. You need to do the same if you want something.

This is why it is so important to have images marked and provide only incomplete samples. People need to realize that this material is difficult to get and if they want somthing they need to put a serious effort on their own side and give something back.

Also do not speak for others. Dont tell me others have contributed to the site. It is almost entirely my own material. I know every person who has ever colaborated and they have always requested something back. Therefore my question will always be: "What have you in particular sent to the site?"

Why is there a big stamp on the pictures? / About sites that copy my material

? چرا روی عکسا مهر و نوشتهٔ بزرگی‌ گذاشتی

As explained previously and also in the following points, gathering this material is extremely difficult. It takes hours of searching in stores, spending money, writing letters sending international packages, begging and more begging to obtain these rare items that I put on this site. Therefor I have to be protective of the material of this site. The whole point of this site is that I am archiving extremely rare material which is on the verge of getting lost forever. Naturally it takes an enormous effort to obtain this material and we will fight anyone who steps over our work and our efforts by simply copying the material of this site.
Initially I assumed that people would be nice and would understand that they should not copy but unfortunatelly some sites still copy so by putting these stamps I protect my hard work.
Being so innocent initially I would only write the address of the site on the picture in a rather small way, but then some guy would go and just erase the marking and repost it on his site! Here is an example and the way you can spot stolen pictures:
